A child's eyes....

Maybe it would be good to have the ability again to see through a child's eyes. A child sees what is there to be seen. They have no filters to look thru which serve to cloud our judgement or to apply a certain contrast that we've learned to use over time and thru experience. A childs judgement is based solely upon their interaction with you but as they grow and mature they start to see thru older eyes and apply the filters, the prejudices that they've learned from others already older than themselves and thats a shame. We all need to work at having younger eyes.

I have always thought that to be able to actually talk WITH an infant would be a marvelous thing. They, having just come to this world from the spirit world would have much to tell us. To be able to ask them to tell me of that other world would be amazing. But I believe that as they mature and reach the age to be able to speak intelegently on these things, they have forgotten what they knew. I think it is planned that way.

there is an owl that lives on the other side of the yard, he/she is always hooting, evening time, i will hoot back, little guy shakes his head at me, "oh mommy".......

days ago, decided to walk out and see him/her, the hooting began, the owl flew away, theres little guy, "oh mommy".........

then he and daddy goes out, the owl flew in closer, kinda scared little guy, he came in the house and said, "mommy, you dont need to talk to the owl, he's talking to us".........

and yes, when i read Buddy's post of his grand daughter's experience, i was like wow!  Smiley

Youngbird,
Have you ever heard a woman say ‘I have baby brain’?  It is when a pregnant woman becomes very forgetful.  I think this is residue from the ‘forgetful energy’ that is being given to the baby.
But there is a time between conception and implantation, when you can hear/feel them; lots of women can tell that they are pregnant before any test can.  Having another soul inside of your own body is the most amazing feeling.

I was adding my thoughts to another thread about young people and modern cultural issues, when it brought to my mind a song I had posted today...watching the video seeing the sea of young faces in the crowd all taking in the atmosphere of celebration and togetherness...they all sang along with passion to the words...

"The time has come to make things right, You and I must fight for our rights, You and I must fight to survive"

Just as they entered that arena and it became 'Us and We'...so as they leave the stadium heading home, they pull out their blackberries and ipods and suddenly it's back to the world of 'I and Me'.

If only we could find a way to galvanise the spirit of that togetherness..moving together as one in one direction.

I have faith in our young people...if they are given the chance to make a difference Smiley

Some of those kids might have been getting in touch with family or friends in the audience wanting to know if s/he had been seen.  Some may have been too excited to wait to SEE the family or friends (like in the time before cell phones, i pods, etc.) to find out they s/he had been seen.  It may have been an "I" moment, but to me it's a different kind.  I must say, however, I know what your getting at.

This is confusing. How can young people possible bridge societies when so many elders are working to bring conflict, hate, and complete disregard for human rights based on shallow things like skin color?

Sometimes it takes a young heart and mind to teach the elders.

Actually, no....but it makes me think back to something I was thinking about some years ago....

Newborns cannot speak....but they are cognizant of their environment and can communicate however in a very rudimentary way. Wouldnt it be amazing if babies could speak on arrival? What would you ask them? They are newly arrived from the spirit world with memories of it still fresh in their minds....I would ask them to tell me about Tunkasila....but they cant speak....and maybe thats why! We arent allowed to know.......
